- Printers / printing
At ReprapWorld we sell electronic parts for RepRap 3D printers. This means we don't have the resources to design and assemble 3D printers, but we do have a lot of experience in 3D printing. This experience can help you building your own custom 3D printer. But for people new to 3D printing we recommend to start of with a do-it-yourself 3D printer kit. Each kit in this section will allow you to build a fully working 3D printer, but there are quite a lot of differences in price and quality.
For starters we have the normal FDM or SLA 3D printers, which are two separate technologies for creating objects. FDM uses thermo plastics and heat to create objects as where SLA uses resin and light to do this. Within FDM we have Cartesian, Delta and CoreXY machines as motion platforms. Cartesian printers use three separate axis are most used. CoreXY combines the XY axis and moves the hotend using a belt system and two motors. Finally, the delta printer types use three motors for each movement by sliding vertices, which are connected to a effector plate at the center, up and down.
The printer kits section will go into more detail on the printer kits we have available. Also we have 3D pens available as well as printed parts.
